Xishuangbanna: Tropisch China met Zuidoost-Aziatische Flair
Xishuangbanna is just one of three names for Yunnan’s southern most prefecture–peopled and named by the Dai. Which ever you hear, it will lead you to the same prefecture, to the jungles south of the southern clouds that hug the Mekong as it makes its way out of the mountains. Those same mountains and jungles that kept the region isolated over the centuries have become a destination unto themselves. Yet, their spectaculars cenery and welcoming people are still relatively undiscovered by South East Asia’s legions of travelers.
